"There are probably about six to 12 people in the world that have got a comprehensive collection of Japanese occupation stamps," Cassuto reckoned.

Has he got his stamps insured? "It will be silly to leave them lying around – the stamps are quite perishable," he said. "Quite a few got tropicalised. The heat could discolour the stamps, and the humidity will affect the gum and the paper."
