Gypsy Kins

If the papers were to be believed, the EU expansion is partly responsible for letting a flood of gypsies into Western Europe. Interestingly, the papers often fail to distinguish between Rumanian, Albanian and Bulgarian nationals — and gypsies. They are all written about as if they belong to one group.

The issue is about the impact of the EU expansion on the old EU states and their socioe-conomical landscapes, but the story ends up being about "gypsies that fall off the back of lorries" (as the Sun puts it). Points simplified or points over-simplified? Well, some of the journalists actually went to university, supposedly.

Like them or hate them, the gypsies have inspired our literature, music and even a way of life. Feeling Bohemian, anyone? Yes, that's a gypsy thing, too.
