Istanbul: Ottoman Cuisine
Photos & Words: Salina Christmas

Food logistics in those good, old days.

At Topkapi Palace, I got to see Prophet Abraham's saucepan on display (seriously! And John the Baptist's left arm!)

It's white, small, very worn out, but looks similar to the cauldrons depicted, and is smaller in size. Round and wide, with flat bottom. Ideal for cooking on makeshift stove while on the move.

You can tell Abraham spent a lot of time on the move.
