Istanbul: Eating Out
Photos & Words: Salina Christmas

The famous Turkish coffee, small, bitter and sweet.

Quite a few Sultans outlawed coffee and cafes over the centuries to put a stop to people loafing for hours. No shortage of condemnations from religious leaders, too, in the olden days.

Glad to know this didn't happen only in my home country.

It wasn't so much the coffee that bugged the authorities. It was the idleness.
