Stand and Stare: Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2008
Words by Salina Christmas

The judge, Norbert Rosing (left), speaks about the importance of photography in educating the masses about the environment. He agrees that photography has a social position, an influential one at that, and how he tries to drive home the message through his works on the Arctic.

Rosing is famous for his ongoing project, The World of the Polar Bear. Last year, nine of his images was selected for the final Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition.
