World Summit: Ama Dablam
Photos and words by Richard Bull

Ama Dablam is famous for its long and steep snowy slope up to the summit. Close up it is less steep than it might seem and is beautifully wind-carved. The view is as breath-taking as the physical work of ascending.

The weather was calm. In high wind, this slope would be an ordeal, not least form the small ice particles exfoliating exposed skin.
