People who don't row think it's a jolly old sport for toffs. Actually, it's quite painful and you have to put up with cold and wet weather. Tempers flare all the time.
The bruises on the rower's hand tell a lot about the sport.
I had plenty of sadness after
my brother passed away, and after I broke up with a couple
of guys. Marilyn Monroe told Arthur Miller that men only like
happy women. She was right.
The female rowers are strong, but yet feminine and fragile at the same time. That was what I tried to capture here. I called this piece "It's not a man's boat".
