Burn Baby Burn: The Pyrotechnic Celebration of
Las Fallas
Photos & Words by Gregory Lecointe
In the midst of the explosions, on the third day of the celebrations,
the neighbourhood dresses up and make its way down to dress
with flowers the saint patron Virgin.
In the processions, all of them bearing flowers, first come
the youth, followed by the women and the men. The brass bands,
always coming last, play along bullerias and Valencian air.
As each procession passes away, the party takes something of a Fellinian air.
