As I wandered mesmerised through the exploding streets, it came to me that nothing was better suited to represent the very essence of a culture where pride takes you in an arena facing a raging bull - where dancing is done with an arched back and the eyes of a king - than a festival where fireworks aim at recreating daylight and roll like a gigantic drum shaking you to your very depth.
