Burn Baby Burn: The Pyrotechnic Celebration of Las Fallas
Photos & Words by Gregory Lecointe

Once all have given their flowers, the Virgin's cloak reveals its magnificent colours and the Plaza de la Virgo fills with sweet spring scents.

The scale of the blessing figure is nothing short of the mightiest Fallas as it reaches almost to the top of the surrounding buildings. Clinging on the roof edges, colourful sunscreens are laid so the flowers keep their radiance throughout the week.

Long after the Fallas are gone, the beautiful Virgin will keep looking after the city and remind us of the grandiose celebrations.
