Photographer of
the Year 2007
By Salina Christmas
But what caught the Editors'
eyes is this close-up of confettis, scattered all over the
tarmac.
It was the aftermath of a concert which
Malka attended. She thought the confettis look sad lying around
on the ground.
It's a portraiture of melancholy, and
yet it is not as mawkish or contrived as some Magnum-style
efforts (war reportage anyone?). And it has that off-the-wall
weirdness, too, which we really like.
I told Malka she should consider studying
in London. London needs more genuine talents like Malka, and
less non-dom exiles.
