Travel Photographer of
the Year 2007
By Salina Christmas

This was taken in Burkina Faso in 2006, during a three-month trip through Benin, Burkina Faso and Togo.

Mahoney was waiting for his visa application to be approved.

He decided to spend the time photographing the locals. This shot was opportunistic. The girls were not aware of Mahoney when they were photographed.
