The Guardian said it: "It's
the age of the amateurs". Travel
Photographer of the Year (TPOTY) 2007 confirms what we amateurs know all along, and what the
mainstream media finally, grudgingly acknowledges: Amateur
photography rules. And digital is as valid as film.
Sojournpussy Editors spoke to one of
the judges, director of photography and photographer Jeremy
Hoare, and two of the winners about the role of photojournalism
in times of uncertainty, and the inspiration behind the winning
entries.
