So what's it all about? Sri Lanka's renowned remaining Dutch colonial landmark, Galle Fort lent itself as the venue for the 4 day affair. A platform for writers and a forum for ideas among the literary community (both Lankan and international), the Galle Lit Fest delivered panel discussions, poetry readings, writing workshops and topical debates with gusto. Meanwhile, world famous authors, journalists and editors mingled among the literati.

Launch of The Splintered Face. Poetry prize winning (Juegos Florales in Guaymas, Sonora, 2006) Indran Amirthanayagam debuts his series of humbling poems written in the aftermath of the 2004 tsunami which devastated the lives of thousands in Sri Lanka. The poet delicately brings to life his tales of death.
