In proper sunlight, Blake's tombstone would have looked warmer in tone. In a cold cloudy winter afternoon, taken with the iPhone, it looks grey.

It is interesting that the grave of one of the most influential engravers and poets is located at the heart of Hoxton, home of London's thriving art scene and drainpipe jeans. Very fitting for an art rebel. He studied at the Royal Academy of Arts but thought Ruben was a lot of hogwash.

Today, someone of Blake's literary and art skills would have been a Creative Director. Or an Art Director.

The influence of his etchings can be seen especially in Marvel comics.
