One the famous residents of West Brompton is Emmeline Pankhurst, the woman behind the Women's Liberation movement last century.

Mrs Pankhurst was one of the founders of the radical sufragette movement. She lived at 159, Knightbridge, and died in June 1928.

Her daughter Cristabel, Sylvia and Adela were also sufragettes. Adela migrated to Australia and was active in the Communist Party of Australia.

This is my attempt at a close-up of her tombstone at dusk.
