Who needs a Nikon when the grave itself tells a lot about the deceased?

Iranian-born UK journalist Farzad Barzoft was murdered by Saddam Hussein on false charges of spying in 1990.

His execution was backed by three Tory MPs. In 2003, his interrogator, Kadem Askar, confessed to the Observer that the regime knew he was innocent.

It was alleged that Barzoft didn't know about his fate until the day of the execution. Among his belongings was Heroes by John Pilger. In the book, he scribbled: "Farzad Barzoft of The Observer, who tried to tell the truth about a huge explosion that killed so many people in Baghdad. Under pressure and fear gave false confession, and accused of spying. He is a journalist, too."
