Goodbye My Sony
By Salina Christmas

Sir Trevor MacDonald at the Moving Up in News event in September 2007.

There was a lot of talk about convergence, and migration to new media among the broadcasters present.

I've been a new media journalist (the kind that can actually write codes, edit audiovisual materials — and write, not just monkey around in content management system) for seven years and I found the talk so bloody outdated.

I also found that TV people love discussing themselves. Which is fucking boring. And they wonder why the audience are giving them the two fingers and flocking to the internet instead.

A journalist is a good listener. Broadcasters don't listen well.
