Ola Festival, El Ejido, Spain
Reviewer: The Editor

When: 15 August 2008

The line-ups: Indie legends Björk, Starsailor, Kula Shaker, The Editors, Groove Armada, Massive Attack, Goldfrapp, Digitalism, St Etienne and many more.

Show stealers: Indie queen Björk closed her worldwide tour in top form, performing crowd-pleasing electronica version of her hits. The crowd was mesmerised by the electronic art display by University of Barcelona. Other impressive acts were Massive Attack and the elusive Kula Shaker (yes, Justin Mills is a genius - when he shows up).

Thumbs up: Campsite in front of the sea under big, fat moonlight. 15-min walk from car park to the site. Well organised tents but not the VIP area. The mainly Spanish punters didn't seem to bother. They were here only for the music.

Thumbs down: Bad sandwiches, not enough grass to sit down and in the middle of bloody nowhere (well, it is near Europe's only desert). Rock n' roll.
