Nikon D300

Fun, not a plastic toy

Fun. I held back against buying digital for a long time. I always find some loss in the colour grain in some form of electronic.

When I finally decided to buy digital, I want to make sure it is the camera that woud live up to the way I shoot reportage. So I bought a camera with a good colour grain and the ability to multi-task, but I didn't want to spend £3000 on a model. I wanted a model that has a good build quality and weight, like a proper camera. Not a plastic toy.

Thumbs up: I think the D300 exceeded expectations. I was surprised by the quality of shots that came from it. The speed of the autofocus is very fast. There is a 52-point autofocus system. Recommend it? When I am in camera stores buying stuff, I try to sell the model to people in the shop who ask about it! Prices are coming down as well.

Thumbs down: The only downside is that it is not a full-size see-more sensor. Apart from that, it's a wonderful camera. I tried the Canon 5D and I didn't like the colour grain.
